noch immer läuft laura veirs' "john henry lives" in endlosschleife. was macht sie mit mir? so viele lieder habe ich geschrieben, seit ich ihre musik kenne. den text zu "tidal" auf einer bank am hamburger hafen sitzend mit ihrem "rialto" im kopf. das ist mir noch nie passiert. text und musik kommen sonst immer zugleich. "through december" - die ersten drei takte gitarre gehört und ratzfatz "my body is my diary" geschrieben. und bei ihrem "rapture"... ich hör eh schon auf.
i'm still listening to laura veirs "john henry lives". since i know her music i am writing songs almost incessantly. believe me. it all started with "rialto" from her recent album "year of meteors." i wrote the lyrics to "tidal" singing "rialto" in my head sitting on a bench in hamburg's harbour. i have never written lyrics and music separately before. and when i heard the first chords of "through december" i hit the stop button and wrote "my body is a diary" within 3 minutes (that's the only thing i do really quickly: writing songs). and when i heard "rapture" i wrote... ok. i better stop now. listen to laura veirs!

der 27. jänner ist der internationale holocaust gedenktag. die österreichische bundesregierung zelebriert lieber ein mozart-gedenken in salzburg. im talmud heißt es "in der erinnerung liegt das geheimnis der erlösung" (siehe auch "quiet"). das offizielle österreich verweigert die erinnerung. die erlösung muss warten.
