ja, ich liebe sie, die celebrity-playlists bei iTunes. und ich überlege immer, was ich drauftun würde. nachdem ich aber natürlich nie gefragt werden werde, gönne ich mir dieses zweifelhafte vergnügen einfach hier. in zufälliger reihenfolge:

rialto - laura veirs: auch hier könnte fast jede andere nummer von ihr stehen. großartige songwriterin und eine stimme, die man schnell nicht mehr missen möchte *** same as above: the whole album is fantastic; brilliant songwriter with a voice you don't want to miss
jennifer's body - hole: ja, ich steh sehr auf courtney love; kaum wer schreit so schön wie sie; und unter all dem Gebrülle immer noch wunderschöne Melodien *** yes, i fancy courtney love; hardly anybody screams as well as she does; and there are still some heartbreaking melodies underneath it all
the wedding disaster - the butchies: kaia wilsons stimme mag ich sehr, hat was heimeliges; das ganze album "3" ist schön; gitarren, die gesangsmelodien vorwegnehmen - sehr fein *** i love kaia wilson's voice; the whole album "3" is just beautiful; guitars that anticipate the lead vocals - very nice!
keeping you alive - gossip: also wenn diese nummer nicht leben retten kann, dann weiß ich nicht *** THE life saving track
keep on livin' - le tigre: ja, noch ein überlebenslied; le tigre funktionieren einfach immer *** another life saving track
fuck the pain away - peaches: so ein geiles arrangement, fahrt wie die sau und peaches... ach peaches... *** what an arrangement! fantastic energy, and peaches... well, peaches...
two beers later - cadallaca: flappsige orgel, alles wackelt ein bissl, aber fahrt ganz wunderbar *** i love the organ, and everythings sounds a bit out of tune, and out of time but it works!
40 hours - sarah dougher: sängerin von cadallaca; ihre erste cd "day one" ist meine lieblingsplatte von ihr - schön von vorn bis hinten *** one of the singers of cadallaca; her first solo cd "day one" is one of my favorite records ever
god and country - the thermals: kaum wer rauscht so effektiv durch 3-Minüter wie The Thermals; hochmelodiös, hochenergetisch und sie haben auch was zu sagen; wunderbar! *** hardly anybody rushes through 3 minutes that efficiently! great melodies, great energy, great lyrics!
get up! - sleater-kinney: ich hab's ja sonst - ja, schande über mich - nicht so mit sleater kinney, weil ich den gesang von corin tucker nicht aushalte, aber ein paar nummern sind einfach nur perfekt; diese hier zum beispiel *** i'm not a big fan of sleater kinney - yes, i know, shame on me - because i just can't stand corin tucker's voice, but some songs are just great; like this one here
bigmouth strikes again - the smiths: da muss ich ja auch nicht groß kommentieren *** i don't need to comment on this, do i?
l**** - britta: rösingers texte sind wie immer ein traum, der bass-lauf in dieser nummer ebenso simpel wie eingängig. "man gibt sich da von seiten, die man gar nicht hat." ohh jaaa! *** rösinger's lyrics are one of the best german lyrics around; and i love the bass
between the bars - elliott smith: gehört zu den wenigen traurigen männern, deren traurigkeit mich nicht wütend macht, sondern glücklich traurig; oder auch nur traurig *** he is one of the few sad men whose sadness doesn't make me angry but happily sad - or just sad
brand new life - young marble giants: lo-fi der 80-er. sehr fein! *** lo-fi of the 80ies; great!
the childcatcher - patrick wolf: nichts als gänsehaut. grauslich. großartig! *** goose bumps; horrible; fantastic! such a little boy but yet a genius!
the dancer - pj harvey: selten so eine dramatik gehört *** wonderfully dramatic!
dragon lady - the geraldine fibbers: carla bozulich schlunzt vor sich hin, ehe sie losbrüllt - ein traum *** carla bozulich's voice is just stunning
endlich einmal - tomte: oh was für ein lied! so viel sehnsucht und befriedigung in 5 minuten 12 verpackt *** what a song! so much longing and satisfaction in one song...
i mecht landen - maria bill: ja, ich liebe maria bill; und dieses lied; ach... was hat mir das für schöne stunden beschert... *** i love maria bill; great actress, great performer
pulse - ani difranco: vor einigen jahren hab' ich jedes mix-tape und jede mix-cd mit dieser nummer beendet; *** i used to end every mix tape and mix cd with this song
wie gesagt, ich mag ja keine duette - eben schon gar nicht mann-frau-heten-schnulzen. aber manchmal muss man seinen ängsten ins auge schauen. so gibt's auf der neuen café-amigo-scheibe "fuck you, we are famous" ein heten-duett erster güte mit kuri und mir mit dem titel "venus & mars." präsentiert wird die platte heute im b72. und ich duettiere fröhlich weiter, nämlich mit ja, panik, zu denen ich für ihr wunderbares "like a hurricane" morgen auf der sj-bühne des donauinselfests ab 18h stoßen werde.
i mentioned it before: i don't like duets. especially no straight male-female-duets. but sometimes one must face their fears, so i sang the probably most heterosexual duet ever with kuri for café amigo's new record "fuck you, we are famous" which is going to be presented tonight at b72 in vienna. but that's not enough: tomorrow i join the boys from ja, panik for their song "like a hurricane." the show takes place at the danube island festival, sj-stage at 6pm.

es ist doch fein, nach ein paar tagen internetfreiem landleben wieder in die große stadt zu kommen und dann lauter schöne nachrichten im weltweiten netz vorzufinden. nämlich zum einen, dass church of girl uns zu radiostars des monats juni gemacht hat, und zum anderen, dass die menschen (oder auf jeden fall mal einer) von infused uns mögen und sehr schöne sachen über uns sagen. wer übrigens auf so abstimmungen steht, die/der möge hier für "fine" abstimmen.
it's a very good thing to come back to the city after a weekend in the countryside, and find good news. id est: church of girl made us radio stars. and somebody at infused really seems to like us, and tells a lot of nice and flattering things about us. if you have a little passion for polls, please vote for us here. thanks!
